BLACK WALNUT BACHELOR'S CHESTS
These diminutive chests were designed for a client who wished for a stylish clothes storage solution in a studio condo with very limited floor space. The chests' dimensions enable them to double as end tables on either side of wing chairs, a love seat or other seating, or as bedside tables . The chests are constructed with solid walnut, and yellow poplar was used for drawer sides backs and bottoms. The backs of the chests are fully finished with frame and book-matched panel construction, allowing them to be positioned away from the wall if desired. The drawers are fully hand dovetailed - through dovetails in the rear and half blind dovetails in the front. The drawer fronts are book-matched, cock-beaded and have tiger maple diamond shaped inlay around the keyhole escutcheons. Each drawer is fitted with a solid brass lock. The drawers are fitted with solid brass rosette pulls with round backplates. The chests were finished with boiled linseed oil, orange shellac, wiping varnish and paste wax. 25" tall, 26" wide, 15.5" deep.
Drawers are 23" wide, 12.5" deep and graduated in height - 5.25", 6" and 6.75"
